Happy New Year!

Let’s take one last look at 2003

before we plunge headlong into 2004.

The year 2003 was quite an eventful one for the South Coast Beacon. It was our first full year of operation. We outgrew our quarters and moved to a much more spacious location. We were finally able to get signage! We had some painful and disappointing departures and we were blessed with some wonderful arrivals.

In between, our staff worked very, very hard and, week in and week out, assembled an amazing portfolio of stories, coverage and visual images. The achievements are all the more impressive considering our size.

In almost everything we do, we prefer to look forward. Sometimes, though, it’s good to look back. If nothing else, it affords us an opportunity to see how far we’ve come. Some of our highlights of 2003 are displayed and chronicled elsewhere in these pages, and we hope they spark a smile or two as you join us in our trip down memory lane.

Just as important, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank our advertisers, vendors, readers, subscribers and employees for their strong and consistent support over the past year. It’s been our pleasure to serve you and to work with you, and we look forward to an even brighter 2004.

Happy new year!
